Hello I am new to the forum. Now servers is not my cup of tea, but I could use a little direction. I am very good at network engineering, however I am a little out of my league about servers. I need to figure out if networking and server guys together could make something work

At work we have been asked to have redandant servers in seperate locations running some 3rd party software. The client program that sends info to the server is stupid and can only send events to one destination (either ip or url). As far as the network side goes, I know how to have the same vlan and same network range be in 2 different locations at once at once.

I was wondering is there a way to have 2 windows servers mantain a virtual ip address with automatic fail-over in a network using only the single ethernet connection to the switch ?
