SBS 2003 Exchange Problems |

I am receiving server alerts daily and getting errors regarding problems with Exchange. Although exchange works most of the time it occasionally hangs and we are unable to connect to it. I am using SBS 2003.
Here are the errors:

This is an SMTP protocol error log for virtual server ID 1, connection #495. The remote host "IP.IP.IP.IP", responded to the SMTP command "xexch50" with "504 Need to authenticate first ". The full command sent was "XEXCH50 1908 2 ". This will probably cause the connection to fail. For

And I also get this alert several times a day. (on another forum I read not to worry too much about this but wanted to include it)

MSExchangeMGMT service is Stopped.
This service manages Exchange management information that uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). If this service is stopped, Exchange management information using WMI is unavailable.
