Exchange 2003 reboot vs. Outook log on:You Do not have Permi |

Initial position:
We've got 2 domains as described next:
- old domain 'Domain1' (WNT domain server with serveral W2K workstations as well as user accounts) -> used to log on to Windows
- new domain 'ADDomain2' (W2K3 Exchange 2003/Active Directory server with user accounts used for Email) -> so far just used to log on to Outlook/Exchange 2003
On both domains the accounts for the same user got the same name (eg. 'Domain1\User1' / 'ADDomain2\User1'). Ever since it was possible to log on to Oulook/Exchange 2003 accessing our W2K3 Exchange 2003 Server like this:
- Users with the same passwords in both domains could log on into Outlook/Exchange 2003 without being prompted for any login information
- Users with a different passwords were being prompted to enter theier log on information and then they could log on as well
However, since the last reboot of our W2K3 Exchange 2003/AD Server it was not possible to log on any more for those users with different passwords in our two domains. They all get the following error message:
Title: Microsoft Outlook
Message: Unable to open your default e-mail folder. You do not have permission to log on.
The only quick fix that worked was to set the same password for both domain accounts. For me, this is a very strange behaviour! Can anyone help me on this issue?! |
