We have a 2003 AD. I just recently swapped a Management workstation out for an older system. I installed the OS (pre-installed from Dell) and went about configuring the system like we do for all of our Workstations. I joined the PC to the Domain and then finished up the configuration. I could access all of the servers via file sharing (\\udsserver...\). However whenever I try to open the My Network Places or go to an administrative share on another client computer (\\udswork...\c$) it returns the following errors:
Via My Network Places (Clicking on the Domain Name):
Raleigh is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available.
Via Admin Shares:
Windows Cannot Find "\\udswork00\". Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the start button and then clicking Search.
I am using a Global Administrative User and I am getting this error. I have tried everything from Disabling NetBIOS then re-enabling it to restarting and shutting down and flushing DNS entries. I have no clue what this thing is doing. I am afraid that the Domain was not added properly and I need to do that again. No clue. Any help is always appreciated.
