Hi,

on a Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (German) with SP1 and all recent hotfixes I get the following error every 15 minutes in the application eventlog:
Event type: Error
Event source: WinMgmt
Event kategorie: None
Event ID: 10
Date: 16.03.2006
Time: 10:09:55
User: None
Description: Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance isa "Win32_LogicalMemoryConfiguration" AND TargetInstance.AvailableVirtualMemory > 0" could not be (re)activated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x8004106c. Events may not be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Further I get the following error twice every 15 minutes in the application eventlog:
Event type: Error
Event source: WinMgmt
Event kategorie: None
Event ID: 10
Date: 16.03.2006
Time: 10:09:56
User: None
Description: Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceDeletionEvent WITHIN 600 WHERE TargetInstance isa "Win32_PnPEntity"" could not be (re)activated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x8004106c. Events may not be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

I already searched the Intenet for solutions, but did not find anything.
In the Microsoft knowledgebase KB828653 is an hotfix mentioned, but only as an preSP1-hotfix.
Any ideas how to further analyze this error ?
Many thanks for your help in advance.

Sincerely

Harald

Have you tried www.eventid.net

Usually I find solutions there which are not listed on Microsofts KB.

What has changed in your configuration recently?

What other events are running at the same time these events are occuring?

From following the information on eventid.net I found this,

Quote:

WBEM_E_QUOTA_VIOLATION
0x8004106C

Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP: WMI is taking up too much memory. This can be caused by low memory availability or excessive memory consumption by WMI.

Thanks for your reply Cep,

yes I already searched eventid.net but did not find any helpfull information. The Server is an Terminal server which was recently reinstalled (completely new).
Other events are not occuring at the same time.

How can I track the memory consumption of WMI ?
Many thanks for your help in advance.
