DC not found when running dcpromo on new DC |

I have a 2000 Active Directory domain, xyz.local, currently and need to install a new 2003 server. I have run the ADprep w/o errors on the 2K DC and when I run dcpromo on the 2K3 machine which is currently a member server it says that it cannot find the controller for the domain xyz.local. When I ran DCdiag the response said that the GUID name could not be resolved to an IP address. Check DNS, DHCP, server name, etc. But I'm not sure exactly what Im looking for when attempting to resolve this problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've upgraded a bunch of Domains from NT to 2K3 and setup a lot of new 2K3 domains and never had this type of problem. |
