I am new and unfamiliar with SBS but was assigned to setup a server for my company with SBS.

After installing the server, I tried to setup the email for the company but keep encountering errors when the wizard tries to configure. My setup is as follows:

1) 2 NICs card, one pointing to the internal and one leading to the router out to the ISP

2) The DNS is hosted by our ISP but the server is installed with DNS services (default)

I tried to run and setup exchange (the default on on SBS) which was set up successfully but the SBS will then prompt that a connector is already setup and have to be removed.

Greatly appreciate any help on this.

Hire someone to install SBS for you. SBS is a different beast in itself and requires special attention when installing it otherwise you may find yourself reinstalling the entire OS again.

Long story short. The local DNS server must work 110%, think of it as your server and networks life line, if it fails so does your network.

Do you have SBS 2003 PE or SE? If you have PE what is the order of your NICs? Make sure it's set to LAN / WAN if you plan to install ISA server. Otherwise I would only use one NIC, which ever you use making it the first one in the order.
