Drive letter changed after Windows installation - secedit.sb |
|
|
I just upgraded a Windows 2000 server (member server) to Windows 2003
Standard. Unfortunately, I had no prior knowledge of the server's config or
history. It appears as though the system files were installed to the F:
drive, or the C drive letter was changed at a later date. During the
upgrade, everything was referenced back to the C drive letter. I've modified
the registry to reflect most changes, however, the system is still trying to
reference the secedit.sdb file in f:\winnt\security\database. Does anyone
know how I can modify the setting that controls this info?
Many thanks! |

Are you sure the machine didn't already suffer from the SP4 rollup issue?
Seems duplicate mounting of the %systemdrive% can be a side effect. Issue 3
Rollup 1 for Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

If not you'll need to undo the damage you did and follow the steps in this
article.
