looking for BCUPDATE fix |
|
|
I am looking for BCUPDATE.EXE to fix a NT bug that cause boot failure on
heavy fragmented disk. I asked it to Microsoft but tey said me that since NT
is no longer supported, the only way to get such fix is to subscribe a multi
thousand € NT support subscription. The alternative they gave me was: look on
the net for a copy of bcupdate. I think this is non professional answer; How
can I download from anywhere a utility to modify the boot code on my NT
server? What about security?
Did anyone got this fix from MS before?

Hi,
That is certainly a non-professional answer. Call them again and tell them u
need hotfix 320397 which is for windows 2000 and windows xp. They will send
you the bcupdate2 utility for free.

Are you sure is it the same? I know I can have bcupdate from M$ but I think
is not the same. Anyway they don't make NT fix available in the while they
still have same problem on 2000/Xp. This sound like very poof!
