Windows 2003 SP1 and Exchange 2003 with SP1 server, 1 logical drive use to
store database. This drive store 4 storagedatabase including recovery storage.

This logical drive is RAID 5. When I go to disk properties it show me used
space is 46GB. But if I add all the file and folder together it only show me
25GB, where is other space gone. I have enable show all file and unhive
operation system file, also no paging file in this drive.

Anybody can guide me how to troubleshoot this issues and find out where is
the space gone.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I do know that if there are compressed files
on the drives, the used space will include room for the files' uncompressed
size. There's quite a bit of difference from the size of the files being
reported and the amount of disk space you say Windows is reporting as being
used so I don't know if that applies in this situation. Check for compressed
volumes or files.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for help. This logical drive never enable compress drive and
file. I may try to stop the exchange services to verify the file size again.

Regards,
Lum
