I know this may not be the correct forum for this, but, you guys are DNS
people, so I figured I'd try.

I have a domain that I moved it's DNS from my server to Network Solutions
today. Used their advanced DNS editor, which caused my domain name to be
moved to NS91 and NS92 of Network Solutions, with the records I created.

What I typically do is create the new zone somewhere, give it time for the
servers to get the changes (If there's a lag between when I create the zone
and when they push the settings to their server) then move the DNS record
with Network Solutions. I leave the old DNS server as-is, so if people
don't have the new DNS server info yet, they look to the old one.

Now with Network Solutions, they move the DNS servers as soon as you go into
their advanced DNS editor. So I setup the records and that's it. Then the
calls started.

The DNS server info was already starting to trickle down the Internet, which
is fine. Except that Network Solution's servers do NOT recognize my domain
yet. Spoke with several people over there, and they're telling me it takes
24 hours for their servers just to recognize that I've moved my domain to
them! That makes NO sense! I understand the 24-48 hours of propagation
through the net, but why when I do an nslookup on their servers (NS91 and
92) does it not understand my domain?

The super told me to wait 24 hours, but I have a feeling this isn't right.
I've moved plenty of domains back and forth, to them and others, and this is
new. . .

What do others think?
