I just installed a LCS 2005 SP1 AP in our DMZ. I can successfully
connect using manual or automatic client configuration from outside
our LAN but there is a significant (>2 minute) delay while
Communicator signs in. It will connect eventually. I know I'll be
getting yelled at by users if I roll it out the way it's behaving now.
:)

Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue?
Thanks!

Ah, the joy of answering my own question two minutes after I ask it.
<smacks forehead>

The secret is turning off Outlook integration. As soon as I did that,
signing in only took two seconds.

That leads me to the question of how you can keep Outlook integration
functioning while outside the LAN. Could you use an Outlook profile
that uses RPC-over-HTTPS?

I utilize an Outlook profile with RPC over HTTPS connectivity and my
sign-ons are ~5-10 seconds generally.

Thanks for the info. Guess RPC over HTTPS is my next project. :)
