Hi everyone,

Several months ago I created a portal with teamsites under it. The teamsites
are all based on a templated stored in a gallery. The template was made
using
Frontpage. After a few months I found out that it's better to make changes
to
the actuall .aspx files instead. I then only changed the .aspx files in the
STS directory (for the teamsites only). The changes only involved changing
the lay-out of the header, nothing else.

Since then 2 problems have come to surface:

1) The links to icons of webparts that are stored in that template from the
gallery are corrupted. They're no longer relative but instead they are
absolute. Also the link is broken because it has a double slash "//" in it.

2) When clicking OK after changing the order of the fields in a list,
Sharepoint throws an error "Cannot complete this action".

To determine if this had anything to do with the changed .aspx files I
copied back all the original templates I saved before making the changes.
This action had no effect whatsoever.

Using SMigrate to export part of the site and import it on a testserver
worked fine. Restoring it on the production server quit along the way with a
"The operation failed because an unexpected error occured" message.

The latter described problem lead us to think that the database or
Sharepoint is corrupt. Is this a safe assumption?

If anybody has any ideas on how to solve these problems, I'd be very
interested in hearing them.

Thank you for reading sofar,

Vinz.
