Dear ng,

I set up some url monitoring with the WSS MP. That all goes fine,
including running the reports in the report console.

When I select a Request sequence group of 6 url's and ask for 4 days of
history I get a logon prompt after about 30 seconds. After giving the
right redentials some times I get a 401.1 not authorized error. Funny
thing is that the report runs fine if I select 1 day of history or just
one request sequence.

It seems like some timeout or overflow is causing the logon request.
I've looked for similar reporting services errors but the proposed
solutions (IIS and ASP settings, increase timeouts and page limits) do
not seem to help.

Did anybody else encounter these problems? Thanks ahead for your input!

Further details:
OS W2k3 no SP1
MOM 2005 SP1
Reporting services configured with ssl/certificate/
(SecureConnectionLevel=3)
Reporting services and db on same server

Regards,
Martijn

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your help!

I've tried the workarounds, but they do not solve my problem.

Any other suggestions?

Regards,
Martijn.

Ok, now answering my own questions (sorry to bother you with those, but
the answers might interst you):

- Reporting Services SP1 is supported by MOM 2005 SP1 (see
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mom/mom2005/Library/7542d538-46cf-463a-a8f9-45fbb34f4d1b.mspx)

- It does fix this problem!!

Thanks for reflecting my own thoughts to you, newsgroup readers ;-).

Regards,
Martijn.

This problem kept on annoing me so I continued troubleshooting...

The reportserver-timestampe.log file in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL
Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\LogFiles reports a
StackOverflowException:

w3wp!library!17f4!28-10-2005-08:48:09:: e ERROR: Found
System.StackOverflowException exception:
Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.RSException: An
unexpected error occurred in Report Processing. --->
Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException:
An unexpected error occurred in Report Processing. --->
System.StackOverflowException: Exception of type
System.StackOverflowException was thrown.
w3wp!library!17f4!28-10-2005-08:48:09:: e ERROR: Terminating worker
process

When I look in our fellow newsgroup
microsoft.public.sqlserver.reportingsvcs I see many postings that this
is a bug that will be (is?) solved in reportingservices SP1 or by
changing the db query.

Does anybody know when reportingservices-SP1 will be supported by MOM
(if ever)?
Are the developers of the WSS MP aware of this problem / will they work
on it??

I hope we won't be foced to write our own reports for the WSS MP....

Regards,
Martijn.

Hallo Martijn,

it already supports Reporting SP1
see:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/mom/mom2005/Library/1ccf882
b-9c7b-4c1b-ae09-5e62f3d16957.mspx

<quote>
Use MOM 2005 SP1 Reporting, You Must Have:
=3F SQL Server 2000 Standard or Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 3.0a
or later

=3F SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services SP1

Note
SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services requires the WMI Windows Installer
Provider and ASP.NET. If you are installing MOM Reporting on a computer
that is running Windows Server 2003, you must manually install the WMI
Windows Installer Provider and ASP.NET Windows components.

For more information about SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services
requirements, see its product documentation.

=3F A browser that can render reports in HTML 3.2 and HTML 4.0.

=3F Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, or Integrated Developer Environment
2003 (if you want to customize or create reports)
