Windows Server 2003 Web and File Sharing |
|
|
I have a Windows Server 2003 Web Edition server for hosting a web site. The
database for the website needs to be shared on our internal network.
I have shared the folder the database file is in. Then set the Windows XP
Pro workstations that need access to the file to reconnect to the mapped
drives on login. (the save password check was checked) But when the computer
reboots, the taskbar shows a problem connecting to the shared folder. When I
click on the drive (shared folder) on the workstation, it requires me to log
in to the share by entering a password. I have tried setting the permissions
to all Everyone full access to the shared folder and all it's subfolders and
files.
I do not want to give a password to the workstation users, nor require them
to remember a password to connect to the mapped drive.
Is there anything that I am missing? Or is it how Windows Server 2003 Web
Edition works?
Thanks for any help offered. |
