Hi,

I have a cluster with Windows 2003. It seems work fine. I have implemented a
file serve resource and i don´t know if Ihave a problem.

I have created a group with a disk, IP and name resource, and a new resource
file server with them.

When i connect through \\fileserver\shaed_folder it works, but it works too
when i connect through \\cluster_name\ and in every disk resource i
configured in the cluster.

Is it well?

I know my English is not very well. If anybody understand me please help me.

It is working fine. The Cluster name should allow the file share resource to
be accessed just like a regular server name. In addition, the Administrative
shared (e.g. C$) will be available via the Cluster name as well.

A Microsoft security best practice is to turn the \\cluster\share off. You
do this by turning off NetBIOS support on the Cluster IP Address resource.
Be careful to fully test if you decide to do this.

Cheers,

Rod

This is just a function of NetBIOS.
