am facing a problem configuring TN3270 Service on HIS 2004
I have configured LUA pool with 5 LUAs
the problem that the first two client successfully connect but any other
client after that get error message on the emulator screen saying

TN3270E Service Message 525
The PU is active for LU X(were X is LU Name)
You may continue to wait or terminate your session

that's the error and the status of the LUs that fail keep on going in
pending

If the LUs on the connection are in a pending state, that is not a TN issue,
but a configration issue between HIS and the mainframe. You should check
with your mainframe people that these LUs are actually available on the
host, and see what the status of the LUs are for them.

Ahmed,

Does the PU on the mainframe definitely have (at least) 5 display LU's defined
with the right LU numbers? My guess is that LU's "3" onwards either aren't
defined on the mainframe or are defined incorrectly.

i though so also Neil just wanted to make sure
what i suspect that the mainframe guy is trying to get the project down and
he is not doing the right configuration
i guess i will have to visit the client again and look at the PU setting
myself

Cheers

Not good news if they're deliberately trying to make it fail!

You could ask them to send you a display of the PU out of netview, that would
show what was defined/running.

Ahmed,

I think it's the MAXPATH param that's doing you in. It's set to 3 which is
allowing LU 0 (I presume an appc/lu62 definition) and LU's 2 and 3 to go
active. Which totals 3 - the maximum defined.

Get that parameter removed and it will allow all LU's on the PU to go active.

Note it's an educated guess rather than being the definite cause! :-)
