Good morning:

I've got Win2K Server running my Exchange 2K3 system. All is working well
but the hardware is quite dated and I want to move it to something newer.
What is the easist way to do this? Can I ghost the disks and transfer the
image or is there a simpler or better way to do it?

I also want to upgrade to Win2K3 during this process but someone told me to
wait until after Exchange is migrated to the new hardware and running first.

Any help would be great!

Hi Brian,

Based on my experience, I would like to list the brief steps below to
migrate Exchange 2003 from Windows 2000 to 2003:

1. Install Windows Server 2003 on the new machine
2. Join the new server to Exchange Organization
3. Install Exchange 2003 on the new server
4. Replicate all public folders to new server
5. Rehome the Offline Address Book folder
6. Change the server that is responsible for generating the Offline Address
List
7. Rehome the Schedule+ Free Busy folder
8. Rehome the Organization Forms folder
9. Rehome the Recipient Update Service (RUS)
10. Designate another server to be the routing group master
11. Creating another Site Replication Service (SRS) instance
12. Rehome connectors to the new server
13. Move mailboxes to the new server
14. Remove the first Exchange Server 2003 computer

For the detailed information about migration Exchange server, please refer
to the following article:

administrative group

Hope it helps.
