Dear Newsgroup,

I got some rumours that a server can't be monitored by both MOM and BMC
Patrol.

Did anybody see problems with that or no problem at all?

Thanks a lot for your responses!

Regards,
Martijn.

Martijn,

My case is not exactly same as yours but I am using two Systems Management
products to monitor my servers MOM and NetIQ respectively in my lab. I have
no problem running both the agents. With BMC things might be different can't
say for sure but generally speaking you should not have any problem. Why
don't test it in your lab or on a pilot server? Good luck.

Practically, unless you have a hard pressed requirement -- why do you want
to monitor same thing with two products? Is it for higher level correlation?
or Is it for confirmatory testing? Why spend unneccessary system resources,
right? Hope this helped.
