Granted, this is an Office LCS (server) newsgroup, but let's see if this
helps (I am going to guess that you never see this reply, but someone may
Google for something like it):
You can't download PowerPoint, but you can download the PowerPoint viewer.
I would say that you could just download the PowerPoint 2003 viewer. If you
need to modify the presentation, you will need the actual application.
Since you are a student you may qualify for the Office Teacher and Student
edition. They actually sell this at Best Buy and I think it's $150 or
somewhere around that.
If you need just the viewer:

This newsgroup is dedicated to Microsoft's Live Communication Server. LCS
is a Real-Time Collaboration product that provides internal Instant
Messaging (IM) capabilities and presence awareness. LCS also includes
functionality to archive Instant Messages to a SQL server.
LCS is popular with corporations and organizations who don't want to give up
the benefits of IM and presence, but require a solution to be brought
in-house so that they may meet their compliance objectives, such as
archiving and secure communications.
More information regarding Live Communication Server can be found at:

or

The Microsoft support site is http://support.microsoft.com and has support
centers related to many Microsoft products.

and now that I am at home, when I try to use the jump drive to pull up my
notes it wont let me. It says something about the files coming from power
point. Does this mean that I need to download the power point? And if so,
then which version of power point do I need?
