is there any procedure i should follow before installing a second network
card in my SBS 2000 server? I am going to do this because i have just
purchased an ADSL service with an ADSL modem.

Hi Don,

No real tricks. Shut down, physically install the second NIC, boot, install
the driver and then configure the TCP/IP properties of the second NIC.
You'll then need to re-run ICW so that you put ISA 2000 in firewall mode.

I'd recommend that you also get a cheap router. It can make troubleshooting
a bit easier and takes some of the load off the server by filtering WAN
traffic.

For setup instructions and diagrams (with or without a router), see the
proper link for your network setup on the left side of this web page:

And if you do decide to add a router, turn off the DHCP server on it and let
the SBS server handle all DHCP for the network.

And make sure you install SBS SP1a if you haven't already...

Order the CD as it will also give you Outlook 2002 and SQL SP3a.
