FRS Excel and Word & Root, stop replication? |
|
|
Setup: Two Windows 2003 Servers completely updated are connected via a
vpn through the internet. 100 GB of data replicating through three
linked folders. New files are written to the server by 15 users 5 days
a week. I have the hub and spoke setup. It looks like this:
Root (hub and spoke)
Link 1 (hub and spoke) 2 target folders
Link 2 (hub and spoke) 2 target folders
Link 3 (hub and spoke) 2 target folders
I have three questions. First, can i stop replication between the two
root folders without screwing up the Links below, ie. de-synchronizing
them? Second, should I publish this root in the active directory?
Third, I have an issue with one of my servers, where if you open an
existing MS Word or Excel file on a client cpu and then attempt to save
it, the client cpu will lock up. I tried it on a few different client
computers with the same result. However ,the server I work from does
not have this problem. I don't understand this, hopefully someone does.
Please help.... |
