When one of my client computer boots up hangs on applying computer settings. But if i unplug the network cable from it before it boots up it will not hang. I just have to plug it in when the ctrl-alt-del screen appears. I have checked the DNS and everything appears to be correct. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks

You should maybe check what GPO's (group policy objects) may be applied to this client. Something must be conflicting with the client.

Maybe the server is auditing the events. Look in the event viewer and
see if it logged any events pertaining to this problem.

I had checked the GPO but I do not see anything that could be causing the problem. I also check the error report and the only thing I saw was it saying something about Master Browser Computer. But I have other computers on the Network that work just fine. Do you have anymore suggestions? Thanks

maybe....

it has to be a GPO that is being applied by your network. if it can logon when not connected, it can't be a "local" GPO.

you should try disabling any GPO's that effect that computer. if it logs on,
you know what it is. then you can try enabling 1 GPO at a time until the problem arises.

I know it has to be something with just that one computer because the others on the network work fine. That computer has been a problem ever since the beginning. I did find something that says this:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5719
Date: 12/12/2005
Time: 9:32:20 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MARK
Description:
No Domain Controller is available for domain tipsystems due to the following:
There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. .
Make sure that the computer is connected to the network and try again. If the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I am not sure if this is the problem but looks like it sure could be.....I checked the website and I really didn't see anything that I could do.

Any help would be great!!!!!
