Multiple user webcam conversations... |
|
|
Hi,
I was wondering if it was possible to do a webcam conversation with more
then one person? I can successfully start a webcam session with one user,
but when I go to invite another user, it says it can't. Is it possible to do
this?
I'm using Windows Messenger 5.1 and LCS2005 on Windows 2003.
Thanks,
Kam. |

You have to look to a 3rd party product, such as Radvision, for multi-party
IM through Windows Messenger. Unfortunately, all of the messenger traffic
is peer-to-peer and only the initiation to connect passes through LCS.
Radvision acts as a connector, of sorts. I think the technical term is
T.120 (for the client) and H.323 (for the gateway).
It is possible to use NetMeeting (Start...run... conf <enter>). The conf
application will launch the NetMeeting app. If you haven't configured it,
it will launch the configuration program.
Another option is ConferenceXP (www.conferencexp.net), a product from
Microsoft research.

Allow me to rephrase...for multi-party conferencing outside of IM.
