RE: Very odd VSS Writer issue |

Hi Tim,
I understand the problem to be as follows:
The VSS works fine, but when you use "vssadmin list writers" command to
check it, it shows None. Also, the system backup failed. If I'm out of
base, please feel free to let me know.
First of all, please check the backup log in Server Management/Backup. Let
me know whether there're any error message about VSS backup.
Then, please check Event Log for error message related to VSS backup.
I recommend you to follow KB 833167 to contact PSS support to obtain the
new version VSS.
A Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) update package is available for Windows
Server 2003

If you have any update, please feel free to post back.
Have a nice day!

Having an issue with the shadow volume copy services. The shadow copy
services are enabled, and are making copies as expected, however when
vssadmin is used to show the writers - NONE - are displayed. This server
is
failing system state backups. Anyone have some insight as to why all the
vss writers have mysteriously vanished?
