Host intergration server with All Unix and Linux? |
|
|
Hi,
I have been reading for a while about host integration server 2004 and I am
still struggling to find out exactly what it does. I have red hat linux,
freebsd and possibly some other flavours of UNIX that use applications for my
finance department. There have been a few requests for single sign on to web
portals based on Apache, IIS some unix applications etc...I was wondering if
host intergration server is my answer for single sign on with RHL, Unix and
Apache or am I better off installing Services for Unix 3.5. What benefits if
any would host intergration server bring my company.
Thanking You

HIS is intended for integrating IBM mainframe (Z/OS) or midrange (AS400)
systems.

I'd say you're better off with the Services for Unix and just integrating NT
and Unix security. HIS comes into the tray when you want to add IBM mainframes
and AS/400's into this mix.
