Log On accounts |

I am trying to change the Log on account on our HIS server but everytime I
try the SNABASE service will not restart. Is there a special trick to
changing the account? The HIS server is on a Windows 2000 server box. |

Sergio,
Nothing special. Are you SURE the account is valid, password is correct, has
"log on as service" rights etc?
When the service fails to start what is the exact error message in the NT
event log?

If this is HIS 2000, then you need to make sure the account it a member of
the local administrators group and has "act as part of the OS" rights (which
can be done from the Local Secuirty Policy snap-in, under the Administrative
Tools folder in the Start menu).

Could I use the Localsystem account for these services or does it have to be
a local admin?

If you use local system, then you will not have rights to any network
resources. So if you have multiple HIS servers in your subdomain, then
there can be issues with accessing the shared config file, the SNA Print
service may not be able to access remote printers, etc.
