Make sure that when he accesses the site he is not trying to access as
<hisdomain><username> but either just <username> or
<STSservername><username>
Sometimes this appears in the name line; otherwise in the domain line -
which needs in the example above to be either blank or <STSservername>

| Quote: | I have a user who is having trouble logging into an STS site. Basic
authentication is being used and this user is logging in from a trusted
domain. Other users from this same domain are able to login but this one
user
keeps getting an authorization error message. I am trying to setup a check
list for this user to see what is causing this problem. The user is
running
Windows XP on his PC and has IE 6.0. I believe the user is using Office
2000.
Are there any settings in IE that would cause an authorization problem? So
far the user has done the following.
1) Verified the correct URL
2) Cleared cache in IE
3) His id has been deleted and re-added to the STS site
This site has not been created or modifed using FrontPage.
There are 2 actions which I will have the user perform.
1) log onto a different PC and try to access the STS site
2) Add the site to My Network Places and see if the Windows Explorer
interface is accessible
Thanks in advance for any additional suggestions to resolve this problem. |
