Can SNA client under win2003 access SNA server 4.0 ? |
|
|
The SNA Server 4.0 with SP4 is running on NT4.0 with SP6, the APPC program
worked fine under HIS2000 in Win2000 test environment. currently, it needs to
be moved to SNA server 4.0 production environment, the client needs to be
installed on win2003 advanced server, I tried HIS Client on win2003 server,
but failed with to access SNA server 4.0, can the new SNA client version work
with older server version ? how can I make it work ? any domain
consideration ? thanks. |

Tony,
First, you know that SNA 4.0 is unsupported now and you really should look to
move to HIS2000/HIS2004 (on W2K/W2003)?
Anyway, saying that, it should be able to connect and work ok. The likely
problem is WIN2003 not negotiating an old-style NTLM connection - check the
WIN2003 security policy and tell it that it is allowed to negotiate "down-level"
connections.
If this is the fault then you also wouldn't be able to map a drive on the NT4
server. Try doing a "NET VIEW <nt4servername>" from the W2003 server and see
what error you get - that will point you in the right direction.
Not being in a domain trusted by the NT4 server domain would also do it.
