We have been running sharepoint services for about 6 months and now our DB
Team is wanting to change our hosting costs to charge by the Database. I
have about 10 or so content databases out there. My question is, Can I
combine those content databases somehow so that the Configuration Database
then knows where to find the content?

Are you running Windows Sharepoint Services 2.0? I ask because the concept
of content databases is more commonly associated with WSS than STS.
