Backing up and restoring a collaboration |
|
|
I don not want to lose my sharepoint data (calendars and such) again. How
does one restore a collaboration when backing it up manually by going to the
C:\mssql7\data folder and zipping the files there after stopping the engine? |

Backup and restore of a STS site generally requires backing up four things
a) the STS installation part of the C: drive
b) the Metadata
c) the file structure (where the STS directories are generally under
inetpub\wwwroot)
d) the database
All these work together. Backing up the database is only one step in the
process if you want to be sure.

I already wrote where the files are. (Metadata is IIS metadata)
To restore you'll need all of them.
(I restore using full disk backups so I can't give you the details - also
sorry for the delay I've been on 2 weeks holiday)
