Sharepoint List Calculations Based on Lookup |
|
|
Hi, I am fairly new in using Sharepoint and had a question about the
calculating values in Lists. I have created a lookup list called
lstStates. I have another list in, called lstInformation that contains
a States column. I have setup the States column to "Lookup
(information already on this site)". I created another column called
Region in which I would like to perform a calculation based on the
value in the States column.
1 - Sharepoint won't allow me to perform a calculation on that
column, it says "One or more column references are not allowed,
because the columns are defined as a data type that is not supported in
formulas."
2 - I found that if I setup the States column in lstInformation to be a
"Choice (menu to choose from)" and I paste in all the States, that
I can then perform the calculation.
I can use #2 listed above, but I would rather use #1. Does anyone know
how I can make this work?
Thank you! |
