What comes with 2003 Standard Edtion? I've configured 2002 Server Extensions

Sorry but I don't understand the question in connection with the Subject
line.
If you are asking how to install WSS in Windows Server 2003 Std. please post
to the WSS newsgroup
(microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices)
(One thing that you should NOT do before installing WSS is configure FP
Server Extensions)

Re: STS vs WSS |

Both SharePoint Team Services (STS - came out in 2001 - works on Win 2K and
W2K3 servers but the latter is not a supported platform and it only works in
IIS 5.0 compatible mode) and Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) require
additional installs.
(Note this will only partly change in W2K3 R2 when WSS will be included but
still not automatically installed).
STS can only be installed from a FP 2002 (or office XP version containing FP
2002) CD where the STS setup file is in a subdirectory of the CD called STS.
WSS also needs to be installed. It is available as a download from
www.microsoft.com/downloads and is also included in Windows Update for thos
running Win 2003 Server. (I prefer to use the download). You install it on a
clean Win 2003 Server installation after having either installed IIS 6.0 and
ASP.NET OR having creating in the wizard an Application Server specifying
ASP.NET but *not* specifying FP SE when asked.
As before this newsgroup is for the older product only.
But I suspect that what you want is the new product - please call it WSS
when you post on it to avoid confusion (it was last called STS 2.0 in May
2003!) and please post to microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices ...

Wonderful! Thank you very much that answers my question. So the basic install
of Frontpage 2002 Server Extensions is not the same as STS or WSS. So I
suppose I should post to wk2003 server admin group for questions regarding
the disappearnce of NTFS permissions on folders within a 'frontpage web'.
Thank you for your patience Mike, I really do appreciate it.

Roughly speaking STS uses a subset of the FP Server Extensions that were
then (in 2001) available. WSS on the other hand uses ASP.NET and doesn't
like FP SE 2002 being there (although you can add them later if you really
must).
If you are asking questions about a FrontPage web then consider the FP
newsgroup which *might* be a better choice than W2K3 Server admin. (i.e. I
don't know for sure)

Correction Re: STS vs WSS |

Sorry - I wrote it in the wrong order.
STS uses a *super*set of the FP Server Extensions that were then available.
Not a sub-set.
