STS options after upgrade to Win2k3 |

Greetings,
During the holiday break, out IT admin upgraded the STS server to Win2k3
Server.
Suprise, suprise, STS doesn't work.
I see 3 options;
1) try to get STS working on 2k3
2) try to upgrade STS to WSS after the fact
3) I dunno...
If you have dealt with a similar situation, I would appreciate hearing your
solutions. |

Nasty.
There is a KB paper about how to get STS to work on a Win 2003 server (even
though it isn't supported) so you could hunt for that. It might however be
on "how to install STS on a Win 2003 Server" and probably wouldn't in that
case help you much.
I don't hold out much hopes for 2)
I would go for 3) which I presume would mean get out your latest backup and
re-create a Win 2K Server as it was before and restore to that.
(In my case we have full disk backups so presumably (hopefully) for me this
is just "find an empty machine" and restore.)
I too am dreading the day when I am told some other people have done this
upgrade to Win 2003 Server. My STS machine doesn't seem to be a part of our
migration plans (at least no-one has told me) so they could suddenly
discover it and upgrade it ...
