| Quote: | Hi all, I installed Sharepoint services recently - about 2-3 months
ago, I then did not touch it for about 2-3 weeks. Next time I tried to
log in I could not get in!
It was as though the admin password had expired which was weird as I
was logging in using my local NT admin network user name to log me in
automatically and nothing should have changed!
I got the following error:
"Cannot Connect to the Configuration Database"
I tried everything to get back into the database but could not get
into the MSDE database again.
I have now restored the database to a SQL Server 2000 set up from the
mdf files and I am now trying to install all the old dll's and dwp
files on a new server. It was hard work but I am getting there.
My worry is though I am trying to figure out Sharepoint Services is a
good Intranet solution - as it happens it was a dev server I was
working on - if it was live real data it would have been a terrible
situation.
As such I would like to know why this happened and if moving over to
SQL Server 2000 will stop this ever happening again?
FYI here are a couple of comment from people who had a similar
problem:
