SharePoint Server woes - Please help |

Just got SharePoint Server 2.0 reinstalled from an accidental deletion of the
Config database. Recreated the Config database "SharePoint" and pointed it
to the existing Content database "STS_CSTORESERVER_1". I now get the
following error from my client browsers:
Error
Cannot complete this action.
Please try again.
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.
From the Server's App log, the follow event keeps showing up:
#50070: Unable to connect to the database SharePoint on CSTORESERVER. Check
the database connection information and make sure that the database server is
running. Event ID 1000.
Can anyone help me fix this PLEASE????

[Aside: there is no "SharePoint Server 2.0" - the new sharepoint products
are called "SharePoint Portal Server 2003" and "Windows SharePoint Services"
(usually without a 2.0).]
The SharePoint Portal Server 2003 newsgroup is
microsoft.public.sharepoint.portalserver
If you are running Windows SharePoint Services (this newsgroup), there are a
couple of #50070 problems/answers listed in section III(Administration) of
the WSS FAQ (see my sig).
Please check them to see if they match your problem.

Mike, thanks for your response. This is actually Windows SharePoint
Services. I have not installed Sharepoint Portal. I finally got it
reinstalled and working. Thanks.
