bizdesk shows "loading widget, please wait" |
|
|
After loading the Retail2002 sample app, when I try to look at the Catalog
options, I often get this error "loading widget, please wait...".
It will continue until I reset IIS on my workstation. Then I will be able
to go back into BizDesk and look around again for a brief time, and then I'll
get this error again when changing pages.
It does work at times, but more often not.
FileMon doesn't show any access denied errors.
Permissions on the Widgets virtual directory are the same as for the
Retail2002BizDesk site.
I've reinstalled bizdesk.
I have the same problem when I access the BizDesk website from another PC
and install BizDesk on that other PC.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

In my experience this has always been related to the IIS directory security
settings on either the Widgets virtual directory or possibly the website
root directory in which Widgets resides. Can you tell us what's enabled at
each level for both Anonymous Access and Authenticated Access?

I am developing on my W2K pc
The Default web site has "Anonymous access" and "Integrated Windows
Authentication" turned on
The Widgets Virtual Directory has "Basic" and "Integrated Windows
Authentication"
Yesterday, I uninstalled some software (eRoom Server) I had on my PC, and
the business desk has been working pretty well when accessed from another PC,
but still mostly doesn't work when accessed from my PC.
Thanks.

Unless your BizDesk clients and the BizDesk web server are in the same
domain, I would turn off Windows Integrated Authentication on the Widgets
virtual directory. That should solve your problem. I usually turn off
Windows Integrated Authentication in the parent root directory as well. I
think that will solve your problem.

FYI - I did a new install of the Site on a different machine (Windows Server
2003) and it works fine - it must be some kind of problem with my pc. I'll
do my dev on this new machine.
Thanks
