Hi,

Can MSCS2002 be used as an Application Service Provider (ASP) model (shared
hosting...)?

How many completely and striclty independent e-commerce web sites can we
create using a single deployment?

What are the draw-backs of such a deployment?

Regards,

Armand

Hi David,

I read the knowledge base article... My problem is actually with the Global
Resources... It says that the following global resources are shared (or CAN
be shared):

"Commerce Server sites can share the following Commerce Server global
resources:
• CS Authentication
• Data Warehouse
• Direct Mailer
• Predictor
• Profiles "

Does that mean that I can decide whether to have for example a DataWarehouse
for each site in my deployment or one DataWahrehouse for all (same question
for the other Global Resources)? Since an ASP model won't be effective if the
above points are to be shared between completely independent sites... Please
advise on this as I am still new to Commerce Server and I'm studying the
feasibilty of such an ASP model.

One more thing, if each Commerce Site I will have in my deployment will be
connected to one MS Conntent Management 2002 site through Content Connector,
will that cause a problem? Will I go through a dead end if I proceed with
such integration?

Thank you for your support,

Armand

The referenced global resources can be shared but that doesn't mean you
have to share them. Yes, you can have a different data warehouse for each
site if that's what you want.

I cannot answer the Content Connector question. The Commerce Server team
wasn't responsible for this technology; I'll have to defer to someone more
familiar with the MSIB solution. There are no MSIB newsgroups I am aware
of, but you might try this forum:
