Reading marshaled_data

I have a requirement to report on some data from the
commerce server tables and much of the data is embedded in
the marshaled_data fields. How can I get access to this
data? Can I get it by querying? (unlikey). What about
creating a field for the data and then copying the
marshaled_data data into static columns?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you don't have to have realtime access why don't you do reporting off of
the data warehouse?

I do have to do the realtime reporting... that's the issue.
