CS '02 installs in client mode only on WinXP |
|
|
I need to set up a Commerce Server 2002 dev machine - it needs all CS' dlls
installed and useable from Visual Studio .net (2002 + 2003). The actual
server which the compiled pages will be placed on is another PC.
My problem is that whenever I try to install CS '02 on my WinXP box, it
limits my installation to the administration console and documentation. After
installation, Visual Studio wont let me create special Commerce Server
projects, there are no CS components registered in Visual Studio under "add
references - > .Net or -> COM", and if I look at where the Commerce server
application has been installed on my PC, there's very little there -
certainly none of the required development DLLs are there.
How do I set my dev system up? I have both the Developmer and Enterprise
edition of CS2002, and both of them allow me to install only the admin
console.
Im running WinXP SP1, and SP2 on another PC. Same story on both.
thnx! |

You might want to take a look at KB 825329. It's for SP2... but it has some
useful suggestions on workarounds that may be helpful.

Hi,
Not sure if you are using the SetupDevEdition.exe that is shipped with
SP2/SP3 to install Commerce Server 2002 on Win XP. The RTM version was not
supported for installation on Win XP - support was added only with SP2. So
please make sure you are using that exe to start the installation. You will
need to point the exe the Dev Edition MSI for Commerce Server (not
Enterprise Edition).
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
