Hi

I am trying to install the Beta version of Windows Update services on a
Windows 2000 Small Business Server but am having trouble.

The installation says it cannot continue as the computer must contain a
database server.

Can you tell me if I need to install the full SQL Server product that comes
as part of Windows 2000 Small Business Server or can I just install Microsoft
SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE 2000) ?

I already have an instance of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE
2000) installed & running that is used by a third party anti virus software.

Thanks

N, you do not need full SQL to install and run the WUS beta. However,
questions and problems with using or installing the WUS beta should be
directed to the WUS Beta newsgroup.
