I have a small network with a domain server running SBS 2000
I downloaded a few new security updates this morning and now my users cannot
connect to our ftp server. Our FTP server is outside our network running
windows 2000 server.
Error message
The server forcibly closed the connection
This normally results from a loss of the connection due to a timeout or a
server reboot
1) try connecting to the server again later
2) verify that the problem is not local by trying to connect to an alternate
server

I can't get to our customers ftp server either.

Hey Dave,

Do you have ISA..? if yes.. try this.
Open the cosole for ISA and then disable all default site
and content and protocol rule, try to create new set of
rules for both of them ..take notice..new set of rules
should allow all traffic coming from client machines.
Restart services for ISA and then try to access your FTP
server and just incase if you are using any Non Microsoft
software to access FTP server then try to use IE for same
(FTP://<IP Address of your FTP Server>).
