We've got an unused PowerEdge 6300 that we'd like to set up as a file
server. The server has Adaptec AHA-294x SCSI cards. Are these suported under
Windows 2003 Server? I see Adaptec has drivers for Windows 2000, but no
mention is made for Server 2003.

They're supported under almost every operating system known to man, so I'd
be rather amused if they weren't under Windows 2003 :-)

P.S.
You can always check the HCL for this kind of questions.

Thanks! I did not see these in the WHQL (as the HCL is now known). It's a
borderline call if we'll do it as the OS is worth about what the server is.

Hello,

Generally speaking, the hardware in HCL will work properly in win2k3
system. However, it does not mean the device which is not listed in HCL
cannot work properly in win2k3. It only indicates that Microsoft does not
recommend using it.

However, HCL is a good reference, you can check in the following website to
make sure whether Adaptec AHA-294x is compatible with windows server 2003:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/catalog/server/default.aspx?subID=22&xslt=h
ardwarehome

Please note that the newsgroup does not support hardware related problems.

Best regards,

Frances He
