Stageing question |
|
|
I have 2 servers that have replicated about 6Gigs of data.. both are in
sync. The original "master" frs-staging dir is empty but the other has about
5gigs in it. (I set my frs staging dir limit at 6 gigs). It has been about
12 hrs and it still hasn't cleared, is that normal? When it will clear.. it
has no other outbound partners others then the original master. |

FRS is holding onto the staging files as a cache, which is useful/efficient
if you were to add another machine to the replication group. These staging
files will be automatically cleaned up as soon as they are 7 days old. If
new replication activity between the two servers generates enough new
staging files so that the 6 gig limit is hit, FRS will clean out enough old
staging files to continue replicating.

If you have a lot of data to replicate, you should have a look on the
product StorageX from NuView (www.nuview.com). They can do byte level
replication (and a lot more)
