DFS Question |
|
|
OK, I am just setting up a new DFS root. Win2K is asking me which server
will host this DFS root. I thought that both my domain controllers would be
hosting this. Is this not correct?
Thanks |

Bob,
Any server in your environment can host a DFS root.

Re: DFS Question |

There has to be an initial host, after that they are both equal (multi
master) |

So it does not matter if the 2 servers are not identical in hardware and
configuration? i.e. if i set the DFS share up on drive D of 1 and drive E
of the other??
Thanks! |

Doesn't matter a bit to DFS. The only thing that needs to match is the name
of the root share.

DFS has no concept of initial host. This is an FRS concept.
