Disapearing file |
|
|
I have set up DFS for the following links with replication enabled.
\\server1\data.hr
\\server2\data.hr
\\server3\data.hr
\\server4\data.hr
Under these are actually
\\server*\data.hr\Published
\\server*\data.hr\Published_ntfrs009 (or something like it) (hidded folder
containing exactly what is in the Published folder)
I have a file called Schedule.doc in the Published folder , or should I say
used to. It is not there any more but can be found in the Published_ntfrs009
folder. So in the end the users that browse to the DFS share cannot find
schedule.doc .
Any ideas ?
Or maybe all of this really does not make any sense. |

stop replocation on that set and remove the morphed Published_ntfrs009
then re configure replocation and have the good server copy be the first
master and let dfs do its job, you cant have a copy in each set before
replocation. One has to be the first master others have to recive that copy

You have a morphed folder. Here's a link to some information, to help you
prevent it from occurring again, and to understand why they occurred.
For more information about cleaning up morphed folders, see article 328492,
"Folder Name Is Changed to FolderName_NTFRS_<xxxxxxxx>" at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=328492.
