Permissions on DFS |
|
|
I have two servers: Server1 e Server2
I have a domain MyDomain
I created a DFS so I reach my files replica with
\\MyDomain\Root\MyFolder
but i have this problem: when i want to create a new folder in
MyDomain\Root\MyFolder, I have this message: "Acess Denied".
How can i set the permissions to \\MyDomain\Root\MyFolder so I can create a
folder or copy a file?
thx. |

I believe that you can only do this on a replica, rather than through the
DFS namespace...
ie. \\servername\rootfolder\linkshare -> create your new folder here rather
than trying to create a new folder on \\MyDomain\Root\MyFolder
- if not using FRS, you'll obviously have to create it on all link targets
and manually populate the data.

I use replica.
But If the server is not available I can't write my data. Instead I want
write my data if at least 1 server is available and I don't want change the
path but I want use only a path.

Check the share permissions on the target shares. W2K3 changed the default.
