Hi,

I'm trying to programmatically add and remove DFS links and setup
replication. Using DFSCMD I've successfully been able to configure the
links, but for the life of me I can't find how to enable replication? What
have I missed?

thanks,
David

Hi,

Unfortunately there are no MS tools for setting up FRS replication
programatically.

snap in gui's require a person to use them. I need to setup DFS links
automatically based on triggers in a SQL database

????!!!!!
why not is my first question? But I guess there's no answer to that.

So, I can't get FRS to replicate a single share with 8GB 400 first level
folders and 40000 files, and I can't get it to automatically add each of the
individual folders. So I guess the end story is I can't use FRS :-(

So my next question is, which I've already asked but to no reply - anyone
know of any replacement for FRS that CAN do either of these?

thanks!
David

i dont know about doing it programatically ... but 3rd party
synchronizing/replication software such as http://www.peersoftware.com/
is out there ... worth a call.
