Hi there,

In my Dfs setup, all servers that host the Dfs root and replica shares
run W2K server, and Dfs server is not a DC; it's just a regular w2k
server. While all is fine in most cases, occasionally I see event ID
13504 appearing on a server. It occurs on different server at
different time i.e. it is not always occurring on the same server.
when this happens, I can simply start the service with "net start"
command.

Does anyone know if there is something I need to do to prevent this
from happening. As you know, this event (13504) provides no useful
information as for the cause of the error. It simply says that the
"file replication service stopped without cleaning up". It would be
really appreciated if you could provide some insight into what could
be causing this error to occur, and also what could be done to prevent
it from happening.

thanks,

Fab
