RE: What does HISCLEANREG do? |
|
|
This was an HIS 2000 tool used to clean up "long term" keys from the
registry that the product uninstall does not clean up. These keys are left
behind so an uninstall/reinstall or upgrade scenario can retain access to
the data.
Further details can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/host/proddocs/install/srvi_regi
stry_keys_created_by_setup.mspx
(It has not been updated for HIS 2004, so in post HIS 2000 product installs
there may be additional keys used by HIS that are not deleted by the
HISCLEANREG. However, the same keys are still in use between HIS 2000 and
HIS 2004, so the tool may still be used to clean the majority of the
registry keys.)
I cannot find published details on the specific keys that are deleted, so
the best bet to find that out would be using SysInternal's free "RegMon"
Registry Monitoring product ( http://www.sysinternals.com/ ).

There is an executable (hiscleanreg.exe)in the Host Integration
Server\System\Cleanreg folder. Where can I get the specifics of what this
program does? |
